The Mayflower Club D.C.
Hey are you guys ready for another hidden gem? Allow me to introduce you into “The Mayflower Club”. The Mayflower is a restaurant/club lounge located in downtown D.C. .This spacious 2 floor club has an intriguing ambiance. They have outside seating along with a lounge area in the front room as soon as you enter! I just loved the whole view of this place. That’s what drew me in!
Once you leave the front lounge area, there’s the restaurant! The restaurant has a upper level and lower level with 3 bars! One large bar downstairs, and two separate bars upstairs. The seating downstairs is pretty spacious, and has room for people to stand separately around the bar. Now the seating up stairs gives you more of a intimate club scene. It’s not as spacious as the lower level but it’s really beautiful to look at! There’s high top tables, fashionably chic couches, and beautiful art work all around! There’s even a connecting bridge to cross over to walk to the other bar , and has more seating!
The décor in this place is just so beautiful to look at! From the bright neon signs, to the gorgeous hanging art work, to the master piece of chandeliers shimmering throughout the building! Outside of the scenery this place has wonderful food and amazing drinks as well! Me and my husband enjoyed the Moroccan Salmon, and Smoked Lamb Chops! Let me tell you, the food was amazing! Both were tender, well seasoned and juicy! The presentation was even more phenomenal!
Now of course I could not go without ordering a few drinks. Between me and my husband we had quite a few drinks. The “Tidal Basin Manhattan” was a really strong drink but pretty sweet, it had a smooth finish. “The Mayflower Spritz”, had a sweet yet sour flavor along with some fizz, and a floral after taste. “The Cherry Blossom Margarita” was my favorite! It was very, very sweet, not too strong and was garnished with a beautiful flower! Beautiful presentation!
Lastly after a few drinks and a delicious meal, I ordered dessert! I chose the “Mayflower Flambé”. Not only was this dessert amazing to look at, but it was just as delicious! It was very rich, and decadent in flavor! Truly a crowd pleaser! Once again it was the presentation that really grabbed my attention! My dessert was lit on fire right in front of me! I had my own little mini dessert show! The blue flames were so pretty! Excellent dessert choice! Overall this restaurant was a pretty great experience!
This is a great space to host events, date nights, or even a girl’s night out! This is definitely not a kid friendly environment. If you come before 8pm, it’s a nice chill spot! Anytime after 9pm it’s more of a club scene! The only flaw about this place is the parking! Parking can be a hassle! Either you luck up and find parking on the street, or you have to circle around to find a parking garage. Which is typical for downtown D.C. parking!
