Sade Tanisha

Miss Toya's Creole House Review!

Heyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! Did you miss me? I know it’s been awhile but I’m back! My name is Sade Tanisha, better known as “Talks With Tanisha”. My job is to keep you guys informed about trendy topics, tasty dishes, and whatever else life throws at me! Good, bad, or indifferent! I have so much to share with you guys since the winter ended! Soooooo let’s get into it!

Recently I had the pleasure of finally experiencing dinner at Miss Toya’s Creole House located in Silver Spring, Maryland! If you have not been, I suggest that you make reservations ASAP! This place is a whole vibe! Perfect for any occasion! Date night, girl’s night out, or even a birthday celebration! This is a very chill environment. With sweet sounds of neo soul music, it’s hard not to unwind once you walk through the doors!

Miss Toya’s has 3 types of seating depending on your occasion. There’s regular seating for groups of 4 or more. Which I assume are more family orientated, or for a group of friends! There’s bar dining for those that want to grab a drink and appetizers! Then there’s private dining! Private dining is more of a intimate setting. This area is separate from regular seating, and bar dining. It’s not as loud, and it’s tucked away. I prefer private dining for date nights, or when hosting your own intimate group!

Now let’s get into the best part …….THE FOOD! When I tell you the food was extradinary, even that’s a understatement! I was so blown away, everything was on point! For appetizers me and hubby ordered the New Orleans BBQ shrimp. Trust me it’s not what you think! Remember this cuisine is creole style cooking! It was very savory, flavorful, and covered in this delicious sauce. It was served along side baguette slices. I suggest dipping the bread in the sauce! It’s heaven to your taste buds!

After that of course we started off with our drinks and entrees! Between me and hubby, we tried three drinks! We ordered the Peach Please, Nola Drop, and Creole Island. If you’re looking for a sweet taste with a slight buzz try the first two! If you want to try something a little stronger, that packs more of a punch , try the Creole Island! It’s sweet but very strong! Of course the Peach Please is a peach based flavored drink , obviously! The Nola Drop is a sweet and sour lemon flavor, and the Creole Island is more of tropical punch flavor. They’re are all great options!

For entrees we ordered the Creole Herb Chicken, and the Salmon topped with crabmeat! With the chicken my sides were candied yams, and parmesan spinach! My husband ordered asparagus along with red beans and rice! A classic Louisiana side dish! Both entrees had amazingly, beautiful plate presentation! Garnished with bright vibrant flowers, and fresh herbs! The aroma itself can put you in a trance! They were too pretty to even eat! Both chicken and salmon were very savory, tender, and juicy! The flavors flowed together wonderfully ! The sides really paired well with each entrée! I truly enjoyed my creole cuisine experience!

Looking for something sweet, no worries Miss Toya’s has you covered! They have a variety of desserts to choose from as well! I ordered the White Chocolate Vanilla Bean Bread Pudding! Very appetizing for the eyes and the stomach! It’s sweet, warm, and subtle! It’s not too overpowering! It’s also served with vanilla ice cream! The perfect ending to a perfect meal!

Overall I give this restaurant a 9 out of 10! This place has great food, phenomenal service, beautiful scenery and great music! The only thing I did not like about this restaurant …….LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! Trying to find this restaurant was a tad bit difficult! I absolutely became annoyed with directions through GPS! It became very confusing! I had to actually call the restaurant for on foot directions! Also there isn’t a big space for parking! Customers either have to pay to park in a close by garage, in a alley, or if you’re lucky the close by shopping center! Though if you park in the alley you risk getting your vehicle towed! Your best bet is to pay to park. Whether it be the shopping center parking lot or parking garage! This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! That’s my only gripe! Other than that I had a wonderful experience! LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK WHEN YOU GO! IF YOU’VE ALEADY BEEN TELL ME ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE! COMMENT , LIKE, AND SHARE!
