Hey hey !!!! Who here likes to exercise? Don’t be shy! Well I have a secret! I absolutely DO NOT LIKE TO EXERCISE! However I love the results I’m benefiting from it! Now don’t get me wrong, being fit and healthy is a lot of hard work and dedication! In the beginning stages you must first make a conscious decision to mentally commit before anything else. You have to decide that this is what you want and set goals to work towards!

I’ve lost a total of 85 lbs ! In my opinion losing the weight is easy, keeping it off is the real challenge. Most people asked me “how did you do it?” “what made you do it?” It’s a whole laundry list, if you really want to know! I’ve had cancer scares, I’ve been diagnosed with high blood pressure, pre-diabetic, heart issues, consistent headaches, leg pains, and of course I was obese! Did I also mention infertility? Now if you were to see me 5-6 years ago you would have never known any of those issues! I was told I wore my weight well, but at the end of the day it’s just not about how you look! It’s also about how you feel mentally and physically. So I made a choice to make a lifestyle change. I decided that I know longer wanted to be in pain. I no longer want to continue down an unhealthy road. I wanted another child, and most importantly I want to be around to live long enough to watch my kids grow up. Ever since I’ve made that lifestyle change and never looked back!

People always ask “what diet are you on?”, my reply……IT’S NOT A DIET IT’S A LIFESTYLE CHANGE! BE INTENTIONAL AND COMMITTED!

I was so proud to take this picture after losing my weight! Most people don’t believe I was this big at any point in my life! I weighed over 200lbs before the weight loss! At my height that wasn’t good at all! This is what consistency looks like!

My lifestyle change has not only improved my health, but also helped boost my confidence! I feel more confident and sexy with my new weight! It amazes me how I can actually see my curves and my shape overall! I even changed the style of my wardrobe! No more baggy clothes for me!

The million dollar question is how’d you do it? Every time I answer that question, all I hear is crickets. By time I run down my tips, tricks and advice it seems like too much to ask for! The truth of the matter is there is no easy way out, no short cuts no nothing! Just hard work and dedication! Most people aren’t willing to put in the work! Everyone wants a quick fix, a microwave lifestyle. Think about it like this……if it takes years for you to gain the weight, how long do you think it’s going to take for you to lose it? You can’t expect top notch results in a week, or month, or sometimes a year! It really takes alot of consistency! However I have no problem sharing just a few things that have helped me!

Diets are temporary, lifestyle changes are long term and/or permanent!

Tips for Starting Your Weight loss Journey

  1. Throw away any junk food out of your kitchen! You don’t need any triggers or any bad food that will tempt you out of your new lifestyle!

  2. Get plenty of rest! It’s important to get your rest! The more you are awake into late hours the more you’re tempted to eat out of sheer boredom!

  3. Drink plenty of water! Water is a good way to flush your system! It is a easy way to cut back on sugary drinks, and if consumed in between meals water can curve your appetite!

  4. Replace your junk food with healthy fruits, vegetables, and snacks! Instead of eating that bag of cheese curls eat some grapes. Instead of eating a cheesesteak try a veggie wrap! Every little change helps! Also it exposes you to different choices out of your norm!

  5. Portion control! Portion control is all about controlling what you eat, and how much of what you eat! This puts you in control of your food, and helps lessen the chance of you over eating!

I can’t give you guys everything, I have a few tricks up my sleeve, but these should get your foot in the door to a great start!

I WANT TO DEDICATE THIS BLOG TO MY SISTER NICOLE, SHE’S THE ONE THAT EDUCATED ME AND MOTIVATED ME TO START THIS JOURNEY IN THE FIRST PLACE! I HOPE I CAN CONTINUE TO MAKE YOU PROUD AND EDUCATE OTHERS TO EMBRACE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE!

Remember to be kind and patient with yourself in this process!
